Job Vacancy - Group Manager Research & Development

We are looking to recruit a Group Manager Research & Development at our Hainault Site, reporting directly to the R&D Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the R&D Group activities and will be responsible for the methodology and creation of new technology, ensuring that the technology meets market and regulatory demands through liaising with Marketing, Sales and Quality. As such, the position requires a mature attitude together with the necessary experience and skills to ensure that all functions are carried out to high standards.

The successful candidate will be working with senior managers and the Board for strategy development and execution planning. The job holder will need to interface with departmental managers where needed to maximise efficiencies and to maintain development target timelines.

The candidate must have an enthusiasm for the task in hand and a willingness to work under pressure in order to meet development timelines and other targets including Company’s financial objectives.

Preferred Education & Qualifications / Experience & Skill Set to fulfil the role:

FCS is searching for an individual with diverse skill set to fulfil the role as a Group Manager R&D, strong management abilities and a degree level qualification or equivalent is preferred credentials for this position.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience of working within a Research & Development environment (preferably within the coatings industry), be confidential, diplomatic and tactful. Be adaptable and innovative in their approach to work.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, across different audiences are essential as well as attention to detail, organisational skills and maintaining high professional standards.
