Pop-Free / Anti-gassing Primers I In Mould Coatings

FCS Pop-Free / Anti-gassing Primers

Specifically Developed to Achieve “Class A” Surface Quality

Our Most Advanced Solution to Substrate Outgassing (and de wetting) for SMC, BMC, RTM and Similar Composites

Formulated to create an instant barrier over cracks and voids that commonly occur in the production of SMC, BMC, RTM, ASA and similar composites, FCS Pop-Free / Anti-gassing Primers prevent outgassing (or de-wetting) of the moulded substrates by securely sealing the defective areas that may, in the case of use of traditional primers, later cause gas bubble expansion in the paint film, especially at elevated baking temperatures.

Our Pop-Free / Anti-gassing primers offer excellent paint film strength and adhesion on above mentioned composites, and can be applied onto clean, lightly sanded substrates. This in return eliminates the need for labour intensive pore filling and the subsequent sanding.

Once fully cured, FCS Pop-Free Primers form a perfectly uniform and strong surface over composites, creating a smooth layer for standard or electrostatic (*) overcoating, as well as making the final product free from bubbles, pinholes and ruptures.

While strandard primer processes require pore filling, sanding, and in some instances heat treatment of the substrate prior to primer application, FCS Pop-Free Primers eliminate all these additional labour intensive steps that add to the production cycle time and costs.

FCS In-Mould Coatings are designed to be sprayed onto the interior surface of injection moulding tools. These products cross-link during the injection process, forming a structurally intact coating film onto moulded PU substrates. FCS In-Mould Coatings require no postbake, creating an environmentally friendly, integrated single-step coating solution with high chemical and mar resistance.

Our specification compliant In-Mould Coatings (IMC) have various applications from automotive plastics to agricultural machinery, and provide excellent adhesion and mechanical performance on rigid and flexible components. Accelerated weathering tests have proven the long-term colour and gloss stability of our IMCs for both interior and exterior applications. We continue to formulate the next-generation IMC systems that combine sensory and haptic properties with mechanical performance.
