Regulatory and Sustainability Specialist, Reports to: Director Operations

Location: Chesterfield or Hainault

About the opportunity

We are looking for an organised and proactive Regulatory and Sustainability Specialist to manage the Company’s chemical and product compliance activities and support delivery of our sustainability commitments. This role is a key link between customers and internal departments and is ideal for someone who can manage competing priorities, communicate confidently and keep complex casework moving to deadline.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor UK, EU and global regulatory developments and coordinate

  • appropriate compliance actions.

  • Manage customer enquiries relating to REACH, CLP, RoHS, IMDS, PPAP,

  • Poison Centre notifications/UFI, SDS, labels and other product compliance requirements.

  • Coordinate new raw-material registration and COSHH assessment, maintain chemical safety information in the PV formulation database, and review formulations, classifications, labels and SDS.

  • Support sustainability and carbon reporting, including Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, parent company reporting, CDP, EcoVadis, utility data and customer questionnaires.

  • Support QA with PPAP and related compliance activities, and produce monthly compliance reports and KPIs.

    What we are looking for

  • A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent relevant background in chemistry, chemical sciences or a closely related discipline.

  • Practical experience in chemicals, coatings, manufacturing or another regulated industry.

  • Working knowledge of UK/EU REACH and CLP, with experience interpreting chemical safety information and/or SDS.

  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines.

  • Good Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.

Desirable

Experience of IMDS, PPAP, Poison Centre notifications/UFI, RoHS, SDS

preparation, hazard classification, sustainability or carbon reporting, CDP, EcoVadis,

product stewardship, conflict minerals, transport regulations or Product Vision.
